A meeting of the Putnam County Board’s Finance Committee was called to order at 5:35 P.M. on November 19, 2018, in the Board Room at the Putnam County Courthouse in Hennepin, Illinois by Putnam County Board Chairman Steven Malavolti. 

Roll call was taken with Duane Calbow, Sheila Haage, William Holmes, Steven Malavolti, and Luke Holly answering.  Also present for the meeting was County Treasurer Kevin Kunkel, County Sheriff Kevin Doyle, Deputy County Clerk mary Ann Brouwer, Chief Deputy Circuit Clerk Carly Neubaum, members of the public, and two (2) news reporters. 

This meeting of the Putnam County Board’s Finance Committee was called to continue with review and discussion of the Annual Budget / Appropriation Ordinance for the fiscal year beginning December 1, 2018 and ending November 30, 2019.  The committee reviewed and discussed the county’s levy funds and possible reductions in spending.  Salaries and health insurance were two (2) of the areas the committee discussed for possible reductions.  It was decided by the committee to eliminate the salary increase for next fiscal year and leave the health insurance as it is currently.  The committee also reviewed and discussed Appropriation #33 (Emergency Services) and recommended that courthouse maintenance cleans the O.E.M. building as part of their 40-hour work week.  The committee also discussed the O.E.M. Coordinator and O.E.M. Assistant Coordinator positions and possible changes.  The committee also discussed the county website and someone taking over the website postings from Connecting Point at a lower cost.    

At 10:05 P.M., the meeting was suspended until Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at 8:00 A.M.  At that time, a Special Meeting of the Putnam County Board as the Finance Committee will review and approve the Annual Budget / Appropriation Ordinance and the Tax Levy Ordinance for the Fiscal Year beginning December 1, 2018 and ending November 30, 2019.  The next Regular Meeting of the Putnam County Board is scheduled for Monday, December 10, 2018, at 5:30 P.M.
